Trailer Bridge is looking for energetic and self-motivated go-getters to join their Equipment Control team. The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, major and minor repairs on trailers, chassis, and containers in accordance with established maintenance and safety standards. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing reliable and roadworthy equipment in a cost-effective manner to meet customer service requirements. Responsibilities include: inspect and replace lights; clean containers; open and close doors; clean rust and prep welding areas; washouts; replace mud flaps; inspect and replace crank handles; remove and replace tires; verify registration; remove nails from container floors; regularly access any area of equipment necessary to perform maintenance, including inspecting and performing work in, on, or under parts of equipment; complete repair orders and attendance records legibly and in a timely manner; maintain shop cleanliness and safety and compliance; maintain proficiency on equipment and technologies; available to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Requirements: 3–4 years of container/chassis/trailer repair experience preferred; knowledge of repairs including electrical, brake and air systems, suspension, landing gear, interior, doors, floors, body work, DOT inspections, PM inspections; basic welding skills including Oxy/Acetylene and MIG; welding certification preferred; ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
